Nuno Espirito Santo is preparing for his Premier League debut with Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the recently crowned Sky Bet Championship champions embarking on a huge summer.

Wolves made short work of the Championship, with Nuno’s ability to combine young European talent and British experience proving to be the key to their success.

John Ruddy, Connor Coady, Ryan Bennett and Matt Doherty provided some Championship nous, whilst the likes of Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Helder Costa formed a pool of young Portuguese players who shone.

Reports in the Portuguese media have this week linked Wolves with a move for another of their young talents in Renato Sanches.

Sanches has spent the year on-loan in England with Swansea City, but the Bayern Munich midfielder has been far from impressive over the course of the 2017/18 campaign.

However, here at FLW, we believe that Sanches could be perfect for Wolves, particularly if Nuno can get the same level of performance out of the midfielder as he has done with the likes of Neves.

Of course, Neves is an exceptional talent, but Nuno has played him in a system where he can thrive, covering his weaknesses and making good use of his strengths.

Sanches at 20 is still developing. Swansea failed to use him in a role suitable to his style, which you would expect Nuno to do.

The midfielder’s emergence at Euro 2016 made him one of the world’s most exciting talents, but it is safe to say that he has struggled since then.

A move to Molineux might be seen as a risk, but Nuno will back his ability to help Sanches back on the right track.

Adding him to the likes of Neves, Jota and Costa could potentially bring the midfielder back up to the top of his game, providing Wolves with an exciting wildcard ahead of their Premier League return.
