Charlton Athletic play host to Wigan Athletic this afternoon at The Valley as the pair face one another in Sky Bet League One.

The Addicks will be looking to kickstart their campaign now that the transfer window is shut and Lee Bowyer has managed to add some good players to his squad.

The likes of Ryan Inniss, Ian Maatsen, Paul Smyth and Andrew Shinnie all arrived towards the end of the window and, overall, he'll be fairly pleased with the market that he has had after the way it started.

Marcus Maddison is another to have joined and there is talk he could play more of a role this afternoon in the side after playing just towards the end of the game against Sunderland before the international break.

As per Charlton's match preview, Maddison could get more than that handful of minutes against the Wearsiders, whilst the likes of Omar Bogle as well as Maatsen and Inniss are all in contention to feature having signed for the club.

The Verdict

It's a much-changed squad at Charlton but it is one that is looking in decent shape now after a productive final few weeks of the campaign.

Indeed, it looks as though several new faces could feature today and it'll be interesting to see how Lee Bowyer lines his team up.
