Hearts and Aberdeen are among the clubs interested in signing Birmingham City’s Greg Stewart this summer, with the midfielder’s future unclear after a difficult start to life at St Andrew’s, reports the Birmingham Mail.

Stewart was signed by Birmingham ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, after impressing for Dundee, where he scored 22 goals in the Scottish Premier League, across two seasons.

The 27-year old cost Birmingham £500k last summer, but he made just six starts for the Blues and only featured once in Harry Redknapp’s three fixtures as manager.

Redknapp is now shaping his squad ahead of the Sky Bet Championship season, where he will be hopeful the Blues can challenge for promotion after narrowly avoiding relegation last year.

Hearts and Aberdeen are hopeful of persuading Birmingham to let Stewart return to Scotland, but the midfielder has also received interest from League One, with MK Dons potential suitors.
