Chris Wilder's Sheffield United have enjoyed a stellar start to the Sky Bet Championship season.

The Blades currently sit in third place in the table, and as its stands, they look like a genuine contender for a top six spot.

One player who is excelling for the Sheffield side this season is young 20-year-old attacker David Brooks.

The Welshman is performing incredibly well for a player of his age, and his impressive displays earned him a call-up to the Wales national side recently.

Liverpool and Everton are reportedly eyeing the Warrington-born player, but is he ready for Premier League football right now?

The writers here at Football League World have issued their opinions on the 5ft 5 star....

George Dagless

Liverpool and Everton need to cool it.

Brooks is an exciting young player and could go on to do big things but he's only just come onto the scene and there's a long way to go before he plays in the top flight.

Players like Brooks need to be playing as much as possible and a move to the Premier League would be very unwise. He should try and get there with the Blades over the coming seasons.

Alfie Burns

He'd be foolish to take the step up to the Premier League now.

The Sheffield United youngster has only made just 15 senior appearances for the Blades, and despite making a huge impact in the Championship this season, he is still developing.

The 20-year-old is destined for the Premier League, but Bramall Lane is the best place for him at this current time.

Chris Gallagher

Brooks is nowhere near ready for the Premier League now.

He's just broken into the Sheffield United team! He clearly has the talent to play at the highest level if recent performances are anything to go by, but there's a long way to go yet.

Playing for the Blades is ideal for Brooks for the next two seasons at least, then you can reassess. We see so many young players get hyped up and stop progressing, the midfielder needs to prove he's an exception.

Adam Simeoni

It is too early to say.

The youngster only burst onto the scene this year, and he needs time to settle at this level before we can judge whether he is consistent enough for Premier League football.

He looks a talent, that's for sure, but he cannot be rushed and overhyped at this early stage of his career.

Give him a year or

two of Championship football, and then we'll talk Premier League.
