Yesterday evening, Jamie Ward was revealed as the latest signing for Scunthorpe United, penning a short-team deal with the Iron until January.

Scunthorpe are currently sat 23rd in League Two, one place above the relegation zone, and are looking for the goals to pull them away from the danger zone. Despite averaging a goal a game so far having scored ten league goals in ten games, Scunthorpe have struggled defensively so far this campaign.

Ward has described himself as a "hard worker" and the former Nottingham Forest striker will defend from the front, sure to give Scunthorpe that work rate at the top end of the pitch as they seek for more three points on a regular basis.

Ward has previously had a Football League career with the likes of Derby County, Nottingham Forest, Chesterfield and Sheffield United, but has failed to get regular gametime since signing for Forest back in 2015 from Derby, with his four years at Forest including loan moves to Burton Albion, Cardiff City and Charlton Athletic.

Ward will be out to prove a point to his former clubs having not had a fair crack of the whip in recent years, and here Iron fans react to their newest signing's arrival...
