Derby County's rather mixed season so far continued on Tuesday night when they picked up their first set of three points at home to a defensively sound Preston North End, taking their tally up to four points for the campaign.

The Rams have had a stuttering run since they kicked off their year away at Sunderland, draw at the Stadium of Light before losing to promotion hopefuls Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend.

A first-half stalemate ended an appalling 45 minutes of football and Gary Rowett would have been relieved to see his side be awarded a penalty twelve minutes after the interval, and Matej Vydra stepped up to slot the ball home.

The only goal of the game meant Derby entertained their first victory of the 2017/18 Championship campaign and that result lifts them away from the bottom three, sitting 14th in the table.

Supporters are certainly satisfied to see a triumph at last in front of a Pride Park crowd and will be hoping this transcends into a top-six challenge; here's how they reacted on Twitter to the game....

Derby County fans, was Andreas Weimann undoubtedly man of the match? Is it relief to finally get that first win under the belt? Would you change anything for the weekend? Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below!
