Wigan Athletic are hovering above the Championship relegation zone, currently in 20th place just four points above Rotherham who currently occupy the final relegation spot.

For Latics manager Paul Cook he is not only trying to save his side from relegation, but is having to absorb the news that midfielder Nick Powell will leave the club on the expiration of his contract, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

Leeds are one club to have been linked with a transfer swoop for the number 10.

So with Powell likely to be heading towards the DW Stadium exit, should Leeds push hard to make a move for the 25-year-old in the summer?

We discuss.......

George Dagless

"Now is the time.

"Powell is an excellent player and is available on the cheap, he'll have plenty of offers.

"The quicker Leeds get involved the better for sure."

Louie Chandler

"Definitely.

"Powell is a serious Championship talent and if Leeds can land him it will be a real coup.

"There will be a lot of competition though."

Jay Taylor

“I still maintain it depends on which division they are in.

“If Leeds go up, because of their history, there will be pools of players wanting to move to Elland Road.

“A better calibre of player, too- so Powell could be an afterthought.

“If they stay in the Championship, he would be the perfect option to purchase in the summer.”
