Coventry City have signed Jordy Hiwula for an undisclosed fee from Huddersfield Town.

Hiwula makes the permanent switch from the Premier League to League One after loan spells with Yeovil Town, Walsall, Wigan Athletic, Bradford City and Fleetwood Town.

The 23-year-old hit double figures for both Bradford and Fleetwood in the last two seasons and will now hope to kick on at his new home in Coventry.

Hiwula pens a two-year deal with the Sky Blues and bolsters their attack, which was looking depleted following Marc McNulty's move to Reading.

The former England under-19 international, who started his career in the Manchester City academy, is not seen as a direct replacement for McNulty, according to manager Mark Robins.

He said: “He’s not a direct replacement for Marc McNulty, but is another component in our squad and this isn’t the end of our recruitment in this window.”

Here is how some Coventry fans reacted on Twitter to Hiwula's arrival and Robins' hint that another striker could be signed before the window shuts.
