Notts County have had a very tough season and with a couple of months left to go in the League Two campaign they still aren't safe.

In recent weeks, to be fair, there has been some signs of life with Michael Doyle and Jim O'Brien providing some steel and Neal Ardley getting some results.

However, some news this morning from Rob Dorsett does not bode well with the threat of administration now very real and potentially imminent.

The Sky Sports News journalist revealed this rather worrying state of play at the club via his Twitter account...

Alan Hardy hasn't exactly had the best of seasons at the club for various reasons and this would surely be another blow for him and the club.

Of course, it's not a forgone conclusion but it certainly seems a possibility and, if it does come to pass, survival for Notts becomes a whole lot harder.

The Verdict

This is far from ideal news for Notts fans who have been through the mill this season.

They lost at the weekend, of course, but in recent weeks have shown some fight and a willingness to get stuck in.

This news, though, would be a real setback if it does happen.
