Notts County on loan midfielder Callum McGregor is hoping his impressive form for the League One team can pave his way into the new Celtic manager’s side for next season.
The 20 year old, Glasgow born central midfielder is hoping Neil Lennon’s decision to leave Celtic can be a turning point and be in contention for a place in the side of the Scottish Champions for the 2014/15 campaign.
McGregor believes he is ready for first team action at Celtic after gaining experience at the Nottingham club under Shaun Derry who fought of relegation.
He made fourty appearances for The Magpies, fourteen scoring in process said ”The fact the club are changing managers will make it difficult but I’m definitely determined to come back and try to break into the team.
McGregor played 60 minutes for Scotland Under 21’s last night in the 6-1 loss by Holland in the European Championships said ”I’ve had a good season so now I want to take that back with me and do everything I can to earn my place. Everything was positive under the old gaffer.
Every time I spoke to him or heard from my agent, the feedback I got was good and was all geared towards him having a good look at me during pre-season.” McGregor added.
”But maybe now the person who comes in might want to put their own stamp on the team and that could allow me to progress into the first team.”
