Notts County have re-signed Sheffield United winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce on loan until the end of the season, the club have confirmed.
Campbell-Ryce, 31, made 79 appearances and scored 11 goals at Meadow Lane between 2012 and 2014 before signing for Sheffield United last summer on a Bosman free transfer.
Notts County manager Shaun Derry offered Campbell-Ryce a one-year extension to stay at the club but the former Barnsley, Rotherham United and Bristol City midfielder decided to join Nigel Clough’s side instead.
But he is now reunited with Derry and the move back to Nottingham should be seen as a bit of a coup for the Magpies considering he has featured in 32 games for the Blades this season, scoring seven goals.
Notts County are currently 18th in League One but are only seven points from a play-off spot. Campbell-Ryce is the second winger to sign in less than a week following the arrival of Northern Ireland international Paddy McCourt on loan from Brighton last week.
Both players should be available for this weekend’s home match against Port Vale.
