According to Greek outlet, Sportime, Nottingham Forest and Olympiakos are set to battle it out for defender Kiki Kouyate who currently plays for Troyes in France.

Forest will be one of the sides eager to get back into the swing of things in terms of playing with them challenging for a play-off spot and still harbouring hopes of reeling in the top two, though they'd need to go on a serious run of form to do that.

Regardless of what division they are in for 20/21, though, they will be looking to add to their side and it seems as though Kouyate is one man on their radar at the moment.

Interestingly, the defender is being watched by two clubs owned by the same man - Evangelos Marinakis - and whether or not that factor comes into play as a deal is sought to be struck, remains to be seen.

The Verdict

At 22-years-old, Kouyate is a young defender that Forest may feel is one for the future.

The Reds have proven stout in defence this season and he'll have to battle hard to get into the first-team, if he joins, but with six goals this season you can see that he provides offensive threat, too, and that may well help him in his cause.
