Nottingham Forest winger Joe Lolley has revealed that golf is one of teammate Matty Cash's off-pitch talents, suggesting the 22-year-old is 'unbelievable'.

Cash has been phenomenal for the Reds this term and has thrived in his new permanent role as a right-back.

The Forest academy product has spent much of his career in midfield but has emerged as Sabri Lamouchi's first-choice right-back in the 2019/20 campaign.

Cash's impressive performances and bright prospects appear to have drawn the attention of other clubs, with AC Milan, West Ham United and Leeds United all linked with the 22-year-old.

It appears his talents are not just limited to the pitch either as, on Twitter, Lolley heaped praise on his golfing ability.

Cash revealed in a recent Q&A with The Athletic that he had to make a choice between dedicating himself to football or golf, and, obviously, chose the former.

He explained: "I did have a chance to be a golfer. I was good at golf. I still am now. I play off four and have done for a long time.

"I always wanted to be a footballer, but when I was 17 I had a chance with golf, I guess. I did think about it briefly. I decided I still wanted to dedicate myself to football though, so it never really happened."

Forest will be happy that he made that call, as the 22-year-old has developed into one of their key men this season.

In addition to adding three goals and four assists from right-back, Cash has helped the Reds keep the third-most clean sheets in the division and climb into play-off places.

Can you remember which Nottingham Forest manager signed each of these 15 players? Have a go now!

The Verdict

Clearly, Cash is a very talented sportsman, given he had the chance to choose between football and golf at the age of 17.

Thankfully for Forest fans he made the choice to stick with football and has developed into a fantastic talent.

It could be a pivotal summer for the 22-year-old, who will likely have multiple suitors in the upcoming transfer window.
