Nottingham Forest's chances of landing a deal for Rangers winger Barrie McKay have increased, after the winger was made to train with the under-20 side, reports the Daily Mail.

McKay, 21, was forced to train with the under-20 squad after it was revealed that he refused to agree a contract extension with the Glasgow club.

Reds boss Mark Warburton previously worked with McKay during his time as Rangers boss and is keen to work with him again, this time at The City Ground.

After missing out on a deal for talented winger Connor Mahoney, the East Midlands club will now be on the search for another winger, and McKay could be that man.

Mark Warburton has already raided Scotland for the services of striker Jason Cummings from Hibernian and looks set on doing it once again, with names such as Rangers right-back James Tavernier also on his list.

The tricky winger would be an impressive coup for Mark Warburton's side after impressing in recent seasons and should have no problems adapting to the intensity of the Championship season.

Since the departure of Oliver Burke last summer, the Reds have been without a consistent winger on the flanks, capable of beating a man, creating chances and scoring goals, and McKay could bring that to the side in abundance.

Nottingham Forest fans... Would McKay be a good signing? Do you think Warburton should keep looking to raid his former club? Are you disappointed to miss out on a deal for Mahoney? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
