Nottingham Forest players Joe Lolley and Brice Samba have shared a touching exchange on Twitter.

It has been nearly two months since the EFL season was suspended and it remains unclear if, how, and when the Championship season will be concluded.

The 16th of May date for the resumption of training that was given by EFL chairman Rick Parry is fast approaching but for the time being, players must continue to remain in isolation in their homes.

In addition to the issues it has caused concerning training, the separation from their teammates is likely also difficult on a social level.

It appears that may be the case for Samba and Lolley, who took to Twitter to share a touching exchange last night – after, it seems, a few glasses of wine.

The duo have been key men for Sabri Lamouchi's side this term, both playing integral roles in Forest's push for the play-offs and promotion.

Lolley has featured 37 times for the Reds, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists.

Samba arrived in the summer and has beaten out some tough competition to secure his place as the Reds' first-choice goalkeeper, keeping the second-most clean sheets in the division this term.

Can you remember which Nottingham Forest manager signed each of these 15 players? Have a go now!

The Verdict

Amidst all the discussions about the lack of football, training issues, and getting the season back underway, it is easy to forget the social impact on players.

From this touching online exchange, it appears Samba and Lolley are certainly missing each other.

It is less than a week until the recommended return date for training that was given by Parry in April, it will be interesting to see whether that is pushed back.
