Outgoing Lincoln City midfielder Brennan Johnson has posted a message on Instagram in the wake of his side’s Sky Bet League One play-off final defeat to Blackpool.
The young Nottingham Forest loanee was instrumental in his side’s opening goal during the contest at Wembley Stadium as he tore down the right before firing in a low cross that Blackpool defender Ollie Turton could only divert into his own net as he was found in an awkward position.
However the Imps eventually found their early lead wiped out under the famous arch as Kenny Dougall found the back of the net with two well taken strikes in the 34th and 54th minute respectively to send Neil Critchley’s men back to the Championship after a good few years away at Lincoln’s expense.
It was a tough end to Johnson’s loan spell an Sincil Bank, and the talented attacking midfielder was quick to give his tanks to the club as he prepared to return to the City Ground this summer:

What club do these 21 former Lincoln City players ply their trade at now?
The 20-year-old racked up an impressive 13 goals and five assists during his spell with the League One side and will now be looking to break into the starting eleven under Chris Hughton at Forest next season.
A talented prospect for the future, Johnson has also received caps for Wales at international level and is rapidly developing into one of the best young players in the entire EFL at the time of writing.
He is said to have a long term deal which keeps him at Forest for now, but if his form continues in his current vein, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Premier League suitors came calling in the near future as his reputation continues to go from strength to strength on Trentside.
