Brennan Johnson continues to impress for Lincoln City as the Imps maintain their push for promotion from League One.

All eyes are on Johnson as we enter the final few months of the season, with Nottingham Forest fans keeping tabs on his progress and wondering what may be in store for next season.

Forest are currently lacking goal threat and creativity in the final third, having scored only three goals in their last seven games and finding the net only 28 times this season.

Johnson, then, could be the answer to their problems next term, as he continues to develop and improve under the tutelage of Michael Appleton.

Lincoln faced Swindon Town and Plymouth Argyle in the space of two days towards the end of February, with Johnson being taken down and winning a penalty in each of those games.

The winger has now won seven penalties for Lincoln this term, as he proves to be a nuisance for Appleton's side going forward.

In a 3-0 home win over Crewe Alexandra at the weekend, Johnson put the finishing touch to an excellent team move to net his eighth goal of the season in all competitions.

Tom Hopper picked him out with a delicious left-footed pass, with Johnson cutting inside onto his left foot and firing into the top corner with precision.

Johnson will undoubtedly be a part of Forest's plans next season. In fact, the question is can they keep hold of him?

Leeds and Burnley have previously been linked with the Welshman, and FLW understand that there is interest from a promotion-chasing Championship side as well as from abroad.

Johnson will concentrate on his football and let his feet do the talking, as he hopes to have a successful end to this season with the Imps.
