Championship outfit Nottingham Forest have finally confirmed that young striker Tyler Walker will not be departing the club on loan during the current transfer window.

It was thought that the Forest academy prospect might be allowed to join Notts County on loan during the current transfer window but according to The Nottingham Post that move is no longer on the horizon.

Walker netted Forest's winner during their impressive 3-2 victory over Premier League club Newcastle United last week and boss Mark Warburton clearly values him to play a part for his squad over the next few months.

Walker was an unused substitute for the Reds in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at the hands of Leeds United and it now remains to be seen how much the youngster will feature for Forest over the coming months.

The 20-year-old is a lively performer and as a product of the Forest youth academy their supporters will undoubtedly be delighted to see his career properly take off.

The Verdict

Nottingham Forest clearly have high hopes for Tyler Walker given that the management staff have taken this decision not to loan him out to another club for a few months.

Walker probably could have gone out until January especially given that the Reds are pretty well stocked when it comes to numbers in attack.

That said if he keeps progressing at the rate he has during pre-season then there is every chance that the son of Forest legend Des Walker might get a prolonged run in the Reds' team before too long.
