After a disappointing season, Nottingham Forest fans will already be looking ahead to next year.

The Reds started the season with play-off push ambitions but these were soon dashed and replaced by the reality of a mediocre mid-table finish.

Aitor Karanka will now be busy at work trying to improve his squad ahead of next season.

He was a busy man in the January transfer window and you can expect even more activity this summer.

This includes both incoming players and outgoings.

A number of players are clearly not rated by Karanka and he will look to cash in on them to ensure that he has the funds to strengthen his squad and bring his own players in.

Karanka will start flogging some of Mark Warburton's players and putting his own personal stamp on the squad.

Here are three players who need to be axed by Nottingham Forest this summer.

Mancienne still has a year left to run on his current contract at Forest but they should sell him if they get the chance.

The 30-year-old has been a liability at times this season and is certainly not the player he used to be.

Lam has failed to make the impact that was expected of him when he joined in summer 2016 from the Dutch leagues.

The Finland international can play in a variety of positions but he has failed to nail down any role and is expected to be shown the door in the summer.

Vellios has had yet another disappointing campaign for the Reds.

With just two goals to his name this season, the Greek striker is surely on his way out of the exit door.
