Nottingham Forest could be set to strengthen their side even more before the transfer window closes, with the Mail Online reporting that the club are considering a swoop for Morgan Rogers from Man City.

The 19-year-old has already been shipped out on a short-term basis so far this season, with the youngster going out to Bournemouth in pursuit of more regular gametime.

With the City squad packed full of options, there was little chance of the player getting any action with the Premier League club this campaign and so he was offered to the Cherries to get more minutes.

He's certainly managed plenty of showings in the second tier so far, appearing 15 times for Bournemouth throughout the campaign. However, of those 15, only one of those has been a start - and City now looked ready to bring him back to the Etihad to send him to another Championship outfit.

One of the sides most keen to do business is Nottingham Forest - and Steve Cooper could certainly benefit from another exciting attacking option in his side.

Rogers has bagged goals in both the Championship and League One so far and could certainly get even more if he can get more frequent action at Forest. Whilst he is getting on the pitch for the Cherries, they have only allowed him a total of 2.6 lots of 90 minutes so far and he could manage even more at the City Ground.

City then will consider bringing him back in order to send him out to a side that could be more beneficial to his development - and Forest could be that side.

The Verdict

Nottingham Forest could certainly utilise another young attacking prospect at the City Ground like Rogers and with the side desperate to bag a play-off spot, another option like him could be a boost.

Rogers has already managed some experience at Bournemouth, albeit not a whole lot so far. At Forest though he could arguably get more playing time in rotation and the chance to get on the pitch more would surely appeal to both Man City and the player himself.

Rogers is certainly talented, he just hasn't had much of a chance to prove it in the Championship so far. With Lincoln in the last campaign he looked bright and the step up hasn't fazed him so far.

Whilst Bournemouth haven't neglected him, he isn't getting on the field perhaps quite as much as the Premier League side would like and if the opportunity arises to send him elsewhere - like to the City Ground - you couldn't blame them for taking it.
