Sky Bet Championship side Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Simon Falette, according to reports from German news outlet Kicker.

The 26-year old impressed for French Ligue 2 side Metz before signing the Bundesliga club in 2017, however has found his opportunities in the first-team limited after the departure of former Frankfurt boss Niko Kovac, and the arrival of current manager Adi Hutter.

The Guinea international has made just four appearances in the league this season, as well as four appearances in the Europa League, with German publication Kicker claiming that the Reds are interested in signing the centre-half.

The East Midlands club have recently hired Jose Anigo as their new transfer advisor following the departure of manager Aitor Karanka this week, and the Frenchman will look to strengthen their side as they look to gain ground on the play-off places.

Forest have recently found their replacement for Karanka, with club legend Martin O'Neill taking the reins at the City Ground.

The 66-year old will be looking to turn their fortunes around having won just one of their last six games in the Championship.

The Verdict

Falette could be a really useful signing for Forest, as they look to get their play-off push back on track.

Forest have looked shaky at the back this season, and will need to find long-term replacements for the likes of Michael Dawson and Danny Fox, whilst the likes of Michael Hefele have failed to make an impact.

Falette is highly regarded in Germany, and he could turn out to be a shrewd addition.
