There are only three days left to go until the domestic transfer window closes, with time running out for clubs to conduct their last-minute business.

It will have been a hectic week for Chris Hughton, who took over from Sabri Lamouchi at Nottingham Forest last Tuesday, and the 61-year-old will be keen to strengthen his squad before Friday's deadline.

Here, we round up the latest Nottingham Forest transfer news and gossip...

Anthony Knockaert

As per Football Insider, Fulham have rejected Forest's offer to take Anthony Knockaert on loan for the rest of the season.

Knockaert has worked under Hughton before and won promotion to the Premier League with Brighton in 2016/17, winning the Championship Player of the Season award along the way.

He's since won promotion with Fulham in 2019/20, after joining the Cottagers initially on loan before making his deal permanent for around £10million.

Knockaert is yet to feature for Fulham in the Premier League this season, though, but despite Forest looking to capitalise on Knockaert's lack of game time under Scott Parker, they have had an approach rebuffed.

Wato Kuate

TEAMtalk claim that Forest are among a host of clubs interested in signing free-agent midfielder Wato Kuate.

The 25-year-old is also said to be wanted by Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday, but it's QPR who are leading the race, having handed the midfielder a trial in West London.

The midfielder spent time on trial with League One side Doncaster Rovers in the summer, but he was not signed by the Yorkshire club.

Nathaniel Phillips

Forest, Bristol City, Reading and Swansea are interested in signing Phillips, who could be set to leave Liverpool on loan or permanently, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The defender spent last season on loan in Germany with Stuttgart, but he has only made one appearance for the Reds since breaking into the first-team picture at Anfield.
