It is starting to get quite busy in the transfer window, with clubs up and down the country drawing up targets and making their first signings of the summer.

Chris Hughton will be hoping to be a fairly busy manager this summer, as he prepares to rebuild his Nottingham Forest squad after a disappointing campaign.

12 players have already left the club, with five loanees returning to their parent clubs and seven players released upon the expiry of their contracts.

Here, we take a look at the latest transfer news and rumours emerging from the City Ground, starting off with a potential incoming...

Sam Clucas

Forest have today been linked with the signing of Stoke City midfielder Sam Clucas.

Alan Nixon claims that the 30-year-old is being monitored by Sheffield United, Forest, Blackburn Rovers and Millwall.

Clucas, who has another year left on his deal, could be allowed to depart Stoke on a free transfer this summer.

The midfielder, who scored three goals and added two assists in 24 Championship appearances this term, cost £6million in 2018.

Jordan Gabriel

Blackpool and Portsmouth are both interested in signing Jordan Gabriel on a permanent basis, according to the Mirror's live transfer blog (06/06, 13:07pm).

Gabriel spent this season on loan at Blackpool, making 27 appearances in League One and helping the Tangerines win promotion via the play-offs.

The 22-year-old is now wanted by Blackpool on a permanent basis, following Ollie Turton's move to Huddersfield Town this week.

Portsmouth are also said to be keen, but Forest are set to give Gabriel a chance to impress in pre-season under Chris Hughton.

Joe Worrall

Burnley remain the keenest interested club in signing Joe Worrall this summer, according to the Athletic.

Worrall endured an injury-hit season, but still made 31 appearances in the Championship and won the club's Player of the Season award.

But Burnley, as well as Crystal Palace and West Ham United, are reportedly interested in signing the centre-half this summer.
