Eric Lichaj's proposed move from Nottingham Forest to Hull City has hit a snag over the transfer fee, according to The Nottingham Post.

Lichaj has been expected to complete a move to Hull and has already agreed personal terms with Nigel Adkins' side but the two clubs are failing to reach an agreement on transfer fees.

The right-back is valued at £400,000 by Forest, who are hoping to cash in on him as he enters the final year of his contract at The City Ground.

Hull have made an offer for the American defender but it is lower than the fee that Nottingham Forest are expected so negotiations have come to a standstill over this transfer.

The 29-year-old has been with the Reds since 2013, playing nearly 200 games for the club after joining from Aston Villa.

Hull lost Moses Odubajo this summer despite offering the long-term absentee a new contract and they are looking for reinforcements in the full-back department.

With left-back Max Clark also likely to leave when his contract ends at the end of this month amid interest from Forest, Hull had identified Lichaj as a top target but are stalling over making an improved offer.

The Verdict

Forest want to sell and Hull want to sign him - it seems daft that they are in a stalemate over a small amount of money.

The price quoted by the Reds is not extortionate for a player of Lichaj's experience and he would certainly be a valuable addition to the Hull squad.

While things have not worked out for him at Forest recently, the 15-cap USA international will always give 100 per cent commitment to the cause.
