With their summer rebuild in full swing, there is no doubt at all that Nottingham Forest are targeting promotion to the Premier League this season and nothing else.

So far they have brought in several new signings and more are expected to follow.

Through the door already are Joao Carvalho, Hillal Soudani, Michael Dawson, Gil Dias, Diogo Goncalves, Jack Robinson and Costel Pantillimon.

Their business is being compared to that of Wolverhampton Wanderers last season, who went on to win the Championship title comfortably, racking up 99 points.

So are Nottingham Forest now favourites for the Championship title?

We discuss.

Alfie Burns

Not for me, Stoke City are.

Of course, Karanka is building a good squad, but there are still areas that need strengthening, even at this stage.

It might’ve changed by the start of August, but they aren’t favourites yet.

Gary Hutchinson

Maybe, maybe not. A good pre-season is one thing, but there are many other factors to consider.

Stoke have recruited well, if Leeds get their targets they shouldn't be discounted and what about Boro?

Jay Williams

It is too early to call. Before I class Forest as title competitors, I need to see what they do in the rest of the transfer window.

But if they can add some depth to their defence, another decent full-back, one more central midfielder and a proven Championship goalscorer (like Grabban), then there is no reason why Forest cannot be up there come May.

Chris Gallagher

No, it's Stoke for me.

However, Forest wouldn't be far behind and you have to say what a fantastic window they've had and further signings are expected. The comparison with Wolves is obvious and they will hope it goes the same way.
