Antalyaspor forward Paul Mukairu is still high up on the transfer priority list at Nottingham Forest, as per a report from The Athletic.

The Reds were unsuccessful in their pursuit of the Nigerian forward during the summer but appear to be returning this month under different management.

Forest's seemingly reignited interest in the young striker has not been impacted by the arrival of Keinan Davis, with the 23-year-old joining on loan from Aston Villa.

The Athletic's report also states that Inter Milan forward Martin Satriano is a long-term target at The City Ground, as it remains to be seen if the Reds push for either signing.

Both Steve Cooper and club CEO Dane Murphy are committed to compiling a youthful squad that is full of potential.

The verdict

It is interesting to see that Mukairu is still a target at The City Ground despite the change of management and the fact that they have brought in Davis over the last few days.

This could mean that the interest in Mukairu could be coming from Murphy as opposed to Cooper himself.

Mukairu is a player that has racked up a lot of senior experience in his short career thus far, which could help him to adapt to Championship football, should a move to Forest be sanctioned.

With Davis arriving, and the club eyeing up another forward this month, Lyle Taylor and Lewis Grabban could be pushed down the pecking order.

This could pave a way for one of the experienced forwards to depart this month.
