Esperance Sportive de Tunis are interested in signing Nottingham Forest right-back Mohamed Drager, a report from Tunisian outlet GNet News has claimed.

Drager joined Forest for an undisclosed fee from Olympiacos back on the final day of this summer's transfer window.

However, the defender has yet to make a single appearance for the club in any competition, and it seems he could already be set for a quick departure from the club.

According to this latest update, ES Tunis, who lifted the Tunisian title last season, have identified Drager as a top target for when the market opens.

It is thought that negotiations with the player are due to begin, suggesting that Forest themselves are open to a potential sale of the 25-year-old.

The length of Drager's contract with Forest was not disclosed when his signing was announced, although it seems he may not be seeing out the entirety of that deal at The City Ground.

The Verdict

It does seem as though selling Drager in the January transfer window would make sense for Forest.

The right-back hasn't made an impact since arriving at The City Ground, and given how well Forest are doing without him under Steve Cooper, it feels hard to see that changing any time soon.

Moving him on with this sort of sale could therefore make sense, since it could raise funds for Forest to reinvest in their squad during the rest of the window.

Given the way that would see this deal work out, it would have to go down as one of the strangest of many odd signings at Forest over the course of the past few seasons.
