Nottingham Forest have had a poor season by their high expectations at the beginining of the campaign, and they once again find themselves well short of the top six.

The Reds have been inconsistent throughout the entire season, and a run of poor form under new manager Martin O'Neill condenmed Forest to another year in the Championship at the very least.

One of the standout performers though for Forest and somewhat something of a shining light for the club has been Joe Lolley, who has been brilliant throughout the season for the Reds with a plethora of goals and assists to his name.

Lolley though missed out on any sort of awards for his form, being left out of the PFA team of the year for the Championship, much to the surprise of many in the game.

However, Lolley doesn't seem to have any sort of sour grapes about missing out, and instead moved to praise Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, revealing his voted for the Villa man himself.

“For me, he’s the best player in the division by a distance, should be playing for England.” Lolley revealed on Twitter via a report in the Nottingham Post.

Grealish has indeed been in fine form and has been one of the big reasons behind Villa going on a ten match unbeaten run which has seen them secure a play-off spot and become one of the most feared teams in the division.

Lolley himself will be hoping to keep improving and emulate the form of Grealish next season as he looks to get his Forest side into the top six and in with a shout of winning promotion to the Premier League.

The Verdict

This is great to see from Lolley this, especially after what seemed a wave of comments about his own omission from the PFA team.

Lolley is a class act, and Forest will do well to keep hold of him in the summer in all honesty.

Goals, assists, and plenty of work rate mark him out as one of the Championship's best, and Forest need him there next season if they are to challenge.
