Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga has been speaking to the press ahead of the Reds' trip to Wigan and has been talking about fellow teammate Ben Brereton.

Assombalonga described the 17 year old as a 'very good player' before going on to say 'I am always encouraging him to do well'. Brereton had only represented Forest at youth level up until this season, when he made his first professional appearance in January away at Leeds.

Ben Brereton has five appearances under his belt for Gary Brazil's side, and has already bagged two goals, one of which was late winner as Forest beat Aston Villa 2-1.

The other coming against Fulham in a 3-2 loss at Craven Cottage.

Assombalonga also felt confident ahead of the visit to the DW Stadium, adding 'with the way we have been playing, we can get a result'.

Last time the two sides met was in the FA Cup third round, when Wigan came away 2-0 winners.
