As quoted by The Nottingham Post, Nottingham Forest midfielder Barry McKay has said that he feels as though the Reds can beat anyone on their day in the Championship.

The men from the City Ground have got plenty of attacking intent in their side with the likes of McKay being joined by Kieran Dowell, Ben Osborn, Daryl Murphy and others in getting forward and impacting games. And, after beating QPR 4-0 at the weekend, it's pretty clear that the Reds can get themselves into the top six if they keep it up.

Certainly, defensively they could be better but they are great going forwards and McKay reckons that they are a match for anyone on their day.

He said:

“We can beat anyone playing like that, definitely. We just need to have that belief that we can go out there and give those performances every week and beat teams.

“We have set the standard now. I think it's just that level of consistency we need to show and we need to build on that as well."

Certainly, fans will hope to see that the Reds continue their form and that McKay is right in his appraisal of the club's chances this year.

If they can keep it tight at the back, who is to say they cannot finish in the play-offs and with the likes of Tyler Walker now coming through the competition for places amongst the squad really is quite something.

The Verdict

Forest were brilliant at the weekend and look as though they could sustain their charge if they keep the performance against the Rs in mind.

It's an exciting time for Forest, then, and let's see if they can remain consistent.
