Nottingham Forest attacker Zach Clough has been urged to remain patient by manager Mark Warburton as he waits for his chance to impress this season.
In a report by the Nottingham Post, the Reds manager spoke very highly of Clough, while he recognised the player’s obvious frustrations at only starting three league games so far this campaign at the City Ground.
“The frustration is that a really talented player like Zach Clough is having to be patient at the minute. Kieran is a loan player and Zach is our player,” said Warburton. “You can put an argument forward about that. But Kieran is doing exceptionally well for us right now. He trains so hard every day and he is a real talent.”
“Zach has responded really well. Zach is putting his head down and is really good every single day. His time will come, because he is a really talented player.” added Warburton.
The message to Clough is clearly an obvious one from Warburton, but the former Bolton player will no doubt be encouraged by what his manager has said, and will appreciate that Dowell is in the form of his life at the moment, meaning its hard for Clough to dislodge him from the team.
Clough was signed by Forest last season and has impressed so far in his appearances for the Reds, but will be desperate to get some minutes under his belt in the coming weeks as he looks to prove his worth to Warburton.
