Nottingham Forest have got a great game to be a part of this week as they head to Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

Indeed, the Reds are travelling to Stamford Bridge for the tie in a game that for many Forest fans will evoke memories of when they were a Premier League club.

Certainly, then, they'll be looking for it to be a memorable time down in the capital but, ultimately, it is their league form that matters most this season as they aim for the play-offs.

And, in a positive message, recent signing Liam Bridcutt has suggested that he is only going to get better after a good start to his Reds career since joining from Leeds.

The tenacious star, speaking to The Nottingham Post, said:

"Every game I am getting better, getting fitter and getting stronger."

Bridcutt, then, seems to have fitted in quickly at Forest but he is suggesting that there is plenty more where that comes from and so Reds fans should excited to see what he's going to manage this season.

Certainly, he is looking like a real leader for the club at the moment and manager Mark Warburton should be pretty pleased with his progress.

The Verdict

Forest have got a real signing in Bridcutt and he looks as though he'll be a key figure for the club for this season and those to come.

Indeed, he has plenty of experience to call upon and is bang in his prime so he'll be looking to guide Forest to a top six place this season.
