Nottingham Forest skipper Ben Watson has spoken to the Nottingham Post and has piled the praise on the club's new signings.

The Reds have made huge strides in the transfer market this summer, adding big money signings such as Diogo Goncalves, Lewis Grabban, and Joao Carvalho to the squad among others.

And Watson, who will captain the team this season, has said that they have all been 'excellent' so far on the training pitch.

"They have been excellent on the training pitch. They are technically excellent and they look like excellent players generally,” said Watson.

“Their work rate has been incredible and I am looking forward to it this season, because we have brought in players who people might not have heard of but who, to us on the training ground, have already made a big impression.”

The update from the former Watford and Palace midfielder will be a big boost to Forest fans, some of whom might well have been worried about just how the new boys would settle in at the City Ground.

It is widely expected that Forest will challenge at the upper end of the Championship this season, and Watson admitted he is 'excited' about the coming season, and that the new signings are already making a big impact around the club.
