Nottingham Forest fans will head into the summer in a confident mood after an encouraging start to new manager Aitor Karanka's reign at the City Ground.

The Reds, bolstered by a host of January signings, managed to steer well clear of the bottom three in the end and are already looking very much like a team in the mould of what Karanka likes to see his teams do, with solid defensive displays a key factor in his past successes.

The summer transfer window represents a big chance for the Nottingham club to really add more quality to a squad which has plenty of talent in it already, especially with some its younger players, as the likes of Ben Brereton and Matty Cash continue to impress.

However, more will be needed to ensure success next term, and we at FLW think that Peterborough man Marcus Maddison would be the perfect signing for the club.

Eight goals this season alongside a mammoth 18 assists have meant Maddison has once again shone for the Posh, despite them missing out on a League One playoff spot, which could ironically, cost them Maddison's services.

The winger is simply too good to remain in League One for much longer, and a move to the Championship will happen at some point. Forest represent an excellent option for Maddison, with the Reds seemingly a club on the up, as well as being a temptation due to their rich history.

Forest fans, what do you think? Would Maddison be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
