Even though Nottingham Forest have already had a busy summer, there could still be a lot of transfer activity between now and the deadline at the City Ground.

New boss Sabri Lamouchi took over a squad that needed a lot of work doing to compete for promotion after a mid-table finish in the previous campaign.

And, he will feel he has made some positive additions on that front but the defeat against West Brom on Saturday proved that more quality is still needed.

Another issue for the Reds is that they have too many players that just aren't required. As well as balancing the books, working with a smaller squad would help Lamouchi on the training ground as he tries to get his ideas across.

Here we look at TWO of the current group that should be moved on before the deadline...

Liam Bridcutt

The 30-year-old defensive midfielder has endured an extremely frustrating time in the east Midlands and is way down the pecking order under Lamouchi - as he was with previous managers.

So, Forest will want to move the former Brighton man on so they can reduce the wage bill and he should be desperate to go elsewhere to get regular football.

Whilst his reputation has suffered with his time away from the pitch, a loan move could happen and it would benefit all parties.

Daryl Murphy

Another who is not going to feature under Lamouchi is experienced striker Murphy.

The target man has been a good player in the Championship over the years but at 36-years-old he is past his best now and isn't capable of leading the line for a side that want to go up.

Murphy could still do a great job in League One though and as with Bridcutt, this is a move that should suit the player and the club.
