Back during the 2015/16 season the then Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman pulled out all the stops to secure the loan signing of Nelson Oliveira and with the Reds in a transfer embargo it represented a really solid temporary addition to the squad.

The lively striker netted nine goals from his 29 appearances and became an instant hit with the Reds' faithful with a string of impressive, all-action displays leading the front line.

At the end of the campaign Forest did emerge from their embargo but sadly couldn't stump up the cash to tempt Benfica into a sale and the striker ended up penning terms with Championship rivals Norwich City instead.

With Forest now in a much better state financially and actively searching for a striker this summer, there is a case to be made that the club should go knocking on the Canaries' door to see if they would consider selling one of their better attacking performers.

Oliveira isn't the type of striker that will score 30 goals in a single season but what he does bring is trickery, work rate and a desire to never give up anything as a lost cause and that in particular is an attribute that adhered him to Forest fans during his time at the City Ground.

The 26-year-old probably wouldn't come cheap should he become a transfer target to his former employers, but if he helped fire the club to promotion any fee would represent a small price to pay for such a big gain.
