Turmoil is the best word to describe Nottingham Forest's situation at the moment with fans protesting against the owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi, no permanent replacement for Philippe Montanier sorted and only five days left to sign some players.

Forest supporters are enduring some terrible times at the moment, though interim manager Gary Brazil has come in to try and turn the side's fortunes around and has stressed that both he and the club are working tirelessly to bring in some players before the window ends.

The Reds also lost their captain last week when Henri Lansbury departed for Aston Villa, meaning the East Midlands club are lacking some creativity in the centre of the park.

Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt, who has recently been linked with a move to Barnsley, is one player Gary Brazil should take a look at to replace Lansbury.

Mowatt is struggling for game time at Elland Road and with Brazil reportedly having funds to spend, the 21-year-old is a player that Forest should try and sign.

Here are two reasons why...

Lansbury replacement

Since Lansbury's exit, the Reds desperately need to replace their former captain with a player who can inject some creativity and flair into the Forest midfield.

Mowatt is struggling to force himself into a Leeds side full of talented midfielders and if he were to move to Forest, he would be given the chance to showcase his abilities.

The 21-year-old can score goals and play an instrumental role in assisting them and this is something the Reds have lacked in recent times.

One for the future

After making 116 appearances for Leeds United, sometimes supporters forget that Alex Mowatt is only 21-years-old and still has a huge future ahead of him.

The former England under-20 international will not come cheap because of his potential, but moving to a club like Forest who are highly regarded when it comes to developing younger players would be a great move for both the player and club.

Mowatt would have the opportunity to make himself known with the Reds and he could go on to become a huge success if he were to move to the City Ground.
