Widespread reports are now suggesting that Aston Villa are very close to confirming the signing of Nottingham Forest star man Henri Lansbury.
Henri Lansbury’s departure has been a forgone conclusion for a while now.
The 26-year-old’s contract runs out in the summer and the uncertainty over the future ownership of Nottingham Forest has meant that contract talks have been non-existent.
As a result, Lansbury is keen to jump ship and join Forest’s Championship rivals Aston Villa.
This leaves a void in the Forest midfield as Lansbury has been a key player for many years now.
The reported fee is about £3.5m so Nottingham Forest need to look to reinvest that cash and sign a replacement for Henri Lansbury.
The January window is always a tough time to recruit but they need new players soon or else they might be dragged into a relegation dogfight.
Here are 2 midfielders they should consider as replacements.
