Nottingham Forest should line-up a deal for this Leicester City midfielder

The constant link between Burton Albion’s Jackson Irvine and a potential switch to Nottingham Forest will only drift into the mist when Mark Warburton comes up with a similar acquisition instead.

It may be beneficial for Forest to sign an ex-team-mate of Irvine and that would be current Leicester City man Hamza Choudhury, who has spent much of his early career on loan at the Pirelli Stadium.

Aged at just nineteen, he’s made over thirty appearances for the Brewers during two loan stints in which the initial twelve months he helped guide the club to promotion to the Championship before returning to the Foxes.

He departed Burton last January and has been plying his trade for Leicester’s under-23 squad, featuring in 526 minutes of football for the Premier League reserves which covers six outings.

Choudhury made his Championship mark in the opening day of last term after earning himself an assist in the Brewers’ 4-3 defeat to Nottingham Forest, but, in my opinion, should be making a move to the other side at some point this summer.

Mark Warburton certainly needs to reinforce his midfield for the forthcoming season and that is why it’s important for the boss to spend his budget wisely, which is what he’d be doing by signing Hamza Choudhury.

The only downside is his lack of experience but that winning mentality outweighs his small number of matches and has plenty of time ahead to develop.

Nottingham Forest supporters, does your midfield need strengthening? Would you prefer Irvine or Choudhury? Let us get your thoughts in the comment section below!
