Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott is one of the Football League’s hottest properties this summer and it remains to be seen where he will be playing his football next season.

Several clubs in the Sky Bet Championship have been reportedly interested in the man who smashed 33 goals for the Posh last season and it seems extremely unlikely that he will remain part of Steve Evans’ squad for the 2018/19 campaign.

Nottingham Forest are a club that are apparently on the list of suitors vying to secure the player’s services and with the Reds harbouring ambitious plans for next season it will be interesting to see whether or not boss Aitor Karanka makes a move for the 23-year-old.

Forest have already spent £13.2 million on João Carvalho from Benfica this summer and their ambitious recruits are certainly exciting the club’s long-suffering supporters, with some expecting the Reds to mount a serious promotion challenge next season.

With Forest splashing the cash on foreign imports it could be that the club try to sweeten the deal with Peterborough by offering a player or two to lower the cash outlay on any potential negotiation.

Two players who might benefit from a Forest departure are attacker Jorge Grant and central midfielder Ryan Yates.

Both Grant and Yates spent time out on loan last season and although they both performed admirably at Notts County and Scunthorpe United respectively, there is a question to be asked as to whether either of them has a future at Forest.

Peterborough boast a proud track record of signing younger players and progressing their careers and Grant and Yates could both be ideal makeweights in the deal which sees Marriott join Nottingham Forest.

Both Forest academy graduates boast qualities which could help the League One outfit challenge for a place in the Championship, whilst the Reds would get themselves the prolific talisman that they were sadly missing last season.

Nottingham Forest supporters, would you welcome Marriott’s arrival if it meant Jorge Grant and Ryan Yates left the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
