EFL Championship outfit Nottingham Forest could be set to revive their interest in Bournemouth goalkeeper Adam Federici as the transfer window edges towards closure.

According to The Nottingham Post, the Reds could be set to try and take the ex-Reading custodian on loan until the end of the campaign after originally pulling out of a permanent deal due to fitness concerns.

Forest boss Mark Warburton has been scouring the market for a goalkeeper throughout the summer months and he could now turn his attentions back towards one of his original targets.

The 32-year-old has been at the Cherries since 2015 but since arriving on the south coast he has played just eight games and is now searching for regular first-team football to throw himself into contention to go the World Cup with Australia next year.

Forest's current number one is Jordan Smith and although he has proved his worth with a string of fine performances since making his debut back in March it would appear that Warburton is looking for someone with a little bit more experience.

A loan deal for the player could be made more permanent further down the line should his temporary move prove a success and his vast Championship experience could make him a shrewd addition to the Forest squad.

The Verdict

There is little to doubt that Nottingham Forest need to secure themselves a goalkeeper before the window slams shut.

Although Jordan Smith possesses some solid attributes when it comes to goalkeeping, there is serious question marks over his level of distribution right now and that i something that Warburton is looking to rectify.
