Nottingham Forest set to explore free agent market to ease defensive woes

Published

on

Nottingham Forest caretaker manager Gary Brazil is set to assess the free agent market as he looks for defensive reinforcements, according to The Nottingham Post.

With a number of injuries to key defenders, Brazil is ready to take a look at a few out of contract defenders but he will only make a move if the player adds quality to the squad.

Nottingham Forest’s defensive situation could be described as a sort of mini crisis.

Matt Mills remains sidelined with groin trouble, Michael Mancienne is out with a hamstring issue and Jack Hobbs sustained a foot injury against Fulham.

Without these three key defenders, Brazil has used back-up options Joe Worrall and Danny Fox and he admits that he was impressed with the deputy duo.

Although Mills is nearing a return, he is not expected to be back for Forest’s next game and Mancienne and Hobbs remain out for a while so he might explore some free agent options.

Nottingham Forest fans – would you sign a free agent? Or would you make do with the likes of Worrall, Fox, Lam and Perquis filling in? Let us know in the comments below…
