Sky Sports Pundit and former Sheffield Wednesday man David Prutton has issued his prediction for the clash between Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest tonight.

Both sides will be looking to bounce back to winning ways following their respective disappointing weekend results.

Cardiff were defeated 2-0 by relegation-threatened Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday whilst Forest were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by QPR at home.

QUIZ: Which club did Nottingham Forest sign each of these 16 players from?

The Reds still remain in the hunt to win promotion to the Premier League although they now sit six points behind second-placed Leeds United and ten behind West Brom.

For Cardiff, ambitions of a play-off place are still realistic although they are now certainly outsiders, six points adrift of Preston North End.

Both will, therefore, be going out to win tonight although Prutton only sees it going the way of The Reds, citing their serious need for a win as his primary reason for the 2-1 prediction in Forest's favour.

The verdict

I completely agree with Prutton and think Forest will have too much for the Bluebirds.

The Reds' form on the road has been more impressive than it has at home and I am sure Lamouchi will have no trouble getting his side fired up for this one in South Wales.

With Cardiff likely to be missing former Forest man Lee Tomlin again, I can see them struggling badly to create in the final third and cannot see them troubling the visitor's goal too much.

I can see this one finishing 2-0 to the East Midlanders.
