Nottingham Forest have reportedly seen a massive £8m bid for striker Patrick Bamford rejected, according to the Nottingham Post.

The Middlesbrough striker was in sensational form last season, especially in the run in to the end of the campaign, and it now appears his former club Forest want to sign the proven Championship goal getter to enhance their already expandig squad this summer.

Bamford knocked in nine goals for Tony Pulis' men during the crucial playoff run in last term, and Forest manager Aitor Karanka is a known admirer of the striker having signed him for Middlesbrough back in 2017.

However, Bamford is not guaranteed a start at Boro, and Karanka is seemingly looking to bolster his striking options with the signing of someone he knows well, and who he knows can produce the goods in front of goal at Championship level.

Forest have already had a big summer in terms of spending with the captures of the likes of Joao Carvalho and Diogo Goncalves, but this does not appear to have deterred the Reds, who are seemingly determined to make good of next season and avoid a repeat of the previous two campaigns.

Forest fans, what do you make of Bamford? Is he the perfect signing? Let us know in the comments!
