Nottingham Forest have got a fantastic academy system which saw the likes of Michael Dawson and Jermaine Jenas come through the ranks, now Fin Back is on the list of youngsters striving for first team football.

Nottingham Forest announced earlier today that 17-year-old Fin Back had signed his first professional contract with the club.

Fin Back is a part of Gareth Holmes’ Under 18’s side at Nottingham Forest and they see him as a ‘technically-gifted midfielder’ and a star performer over the last couple of seasons for the Reds and so far this season he has scored twice, adding to the two goals he scored in the last campaign for the side.

The next challenge for Back now will be to push on and gain some first team appearances over the course of the season.

The youngster took to social media to express his delight at signing his first professional contract with the club…

The Verdict

While Back is still a young player, he has talent in abundance and Nottingham Forest won’t want a player of his ability leaving without a fight so they may look to give the youngster some minutes at some point this season, whether that be in the league or in the FA Cup.

Alternatively, Nottingham Forest may send him out on loan come January time which could be a wise decision to enhance the youngsters development.
