Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Millwall are all locked in a transfer tussle to the potential signing of former Aston Villa winger, Albert Adomah according to Bristol Live.

Adomah was released by Villa after his contract expired recently, which came as a surprise to some after an impressive season for Dean Smith's team.

The 31-year-old made 36 appearances in total for the Villans, scoring four goals and assisting on  occasions as they made a return back into the top-flight.

Bristol City in particular will fancy their chances of convincing him to sign up at Ashton Gate, as he previously made 136 appearances for the Robins earlier in his career.

He might feel as though he has unfinished business with the club, and will be weighing up his options heading into next season.

Millwall would be able to guarantee regular first-team football, which is something which could tilt any potential deal in their favour.

But Nottingham Forest could potentially be after a new winger, with their talisman, Joe Lolley previously being linked with a move away from the City Ground (according to the Daily Mail).

It's set to be an interesting few weeks ahead, and it surely won't be the last we hear of Adomah being linked with a move ahead of the new season which get underway in August.

The Verdict:

He'd be an excellent signing for all of the teams interested.

Adomah has proven experience in the Championship, and was a useful player to rely on for Dean Smith's Aston Villa side last season as they won promotion to the Premier League.

Bristol City could be the ideal destination for him though, as he'd be guaranteed regular game time in Lee Johnson's side.
