Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are interested in signing Paris FC forward Silas Wamangituka, according to reports from French media outlet, Telefoot.

The 19-year-old has been in sensational form for the Ligue 2 side since joining from Ales last term, scoring four goals and producing one assist in six appearances this season.

Scouts from the Magpies, the Reds, as well as European sides Fiorentina, Olympiakos and Schalke have all been sent to watch the Congolese forward in action, due to his impressive form at such a young age this season.

With the Magpies looking to steer away from danger in the Premier League this season, their bid to land the 6ft 2 powerhouse could be hijacked by Aitor Karanka's Forest. The Reds have 14-goal forward Lewis Grabban, as well as Daryl Murphy and Karim Ansarifard in their ranks.

The Reds currently sit seventh in the Sky Bet Championship table, four points off the play-off positions after just one win in their last six games.

The Verdict

Wamangituka looks to be a really exciting player on paper who is currently taking the French league by storm.

He's tall, fast, strong and powerful and is capable of scoring goals, and could be the perfect long-term replacement for Daryl Murphy.

I'm not really sure if Forest need a striker right now, but for the long-term, it could be a perfect signing.
