According to The Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest are monitoring Barrie McKay’s contract situation at Glasgow Rangers and they could make a move for him in the future.
Barrie McKay is about to enter the final year of his current deal with Rangers and negotiations are currently at a standstill.
McKay rejected an offer of a new deal in February meaning that he will be free to talk to clubs next January regarding a pre-contract agreement.
Nottingham Forest are willing to bide their time, continue assessing his situation and then make a swoop in January 2018 if his contract is still unresolved.
Mark Warburton is keen to reunite with the once-capped Scotland international, who can play as a striker or as a winger.
The 22-year-old already has over 100 Rangers appearances under his belt and is considered to be on the brightest young prospects in Scottish football.
Nottingham Forest are willing to give him a chance to play in England if his contract is still up in the air next January.
