The Nottingham Post has revealed that four Nottingham Forest players have been told they can leave this summer.

Michael Mancienne, Jason Cummings, Armand Traore and Jamie Ward have all been left out of the pre-season training preparations as they have been told that their futures lie elsewhere.

Mancienne, 30, is in talks over a move to Caykur Rizespor - a Turkish second division team.

The former Chelsea, Hamburg and England youth international has played well over 100 games for Forest in his four seasons with the club but lost his place under Aitor Karanka and is now seeking an exit.

Cummings spent the second half of last season on loan at Rangers after moving to Forest from Rangers last summer.

The 22-year-old Scotland international scored one league goal (and a further three in the cup) but could be about to return north of the border.

Left-back Traore and attacker Ward were also sent out on loan in January, both to Cardiff City, where they won promotion.

The Verdict

After a strong start to the summer in terms of incoming players, Forest need to start trimming their squad.

These four should kick-start a mass exodus with a number of under-performing squad players that need flogging.

Losing any of these four players will not be a big problem for Karanka.
