Nottingham Forest, Reading and Brentford are interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Paz, as per reports from Portuguese newspaper Record.

The 22-year-old has struggled to make his mark over in Portugal over in recent seasons, making only one first-team appearance for Sporting which came in the Europa League back in December 2018.

This has been because of a serious knee injury which sidelined for him a lengthy amount of time, and he has since featured only for their under-23 side.

Have Forest done these 15 things in the last 10 years?

But according to Record, Paz is attracting interest from a host of clubs, with Forest, Brentford and Reading all interested in acquiring his signature.

It is claimed that Brazilian side Fortaleza are also interested in signing Paz, but they are only interested in a loan deal, whilst Sporting want €3m for his services and will demand a 30% future fee.

Brentford and Forest are both competing for promotion from the Premier League, with both sides sitting fourth and fifth in the Championship table respectively.

Reading, meanwhile, have endured a mixed season in the Championship under Mark Bowen, and currently sit 14th in the league standings.

The Verdict

Paz will be looking to reignite his career after a bad injury, and a move to England could be the making of him.

Forest and Brentford have plenty of talent in their midfield, but with Forest's Ben Watson approaching the latter stages of his playing career, Paz could be seen as a long-term replacement.

Paz would add real competition to the midfield, and could be a useful addition for the long-term.
